In my experience detectors are more a project-based than a user/profile-based
setting. It is more likely to have two different sets of detectors for two projects
(on one machine) than to have varying sets for one project.
But still, there might be cases in which a user-based setting might be highly useful.
I vote for Eugene's suggestion, so Findbugs can cater to all needs.
