There was a recent discussion on a mailing list about threading issues in Swing.

One problem is that calls to show() setVisible() and pack() should only be called from the event thread. The following article gives more info:

Its pretty hard to figure out what thread code is going to execute in at static analysis time. But this is the sort of debugging you can do with AOP...
