Subject: Re: Convert String to XML safe String

Hello Jacob,

Haven't experienced problems with XMLC. We use a toXML() method on our business logic value objects, and their we want to check that the content gets properly escaped to proper xml. (So it's not a real XMLC topic, but I will take a look at the DOMFormatter source.)

Regards,
Merg

The DOMFormatter should do this for you unless you send markup through as a CDATA section. What special characters are you having troubles with? Have you tried them out already using XMLC find that they are failing to be escaped?

A bit off-topic, but I'm sure you guys know the answer. Where can I find a helper method (within Xerces/XMLC) that converts a String to an XML safe String (e.g. escaping &, converting special chars to the UTF equivalent, ...)

Don't want to reinvent the wheel. :-)

Merg
