I've read again XML specs, and they basically tell that namespaces are experimental, at least in version 1.0, did I get that right?. > I would tend to suggest to just add multiple codepage handling > to the version in CVS (coordinated with Frank), ignoring the > namespace problem, and I will try to fix the namespace issue well, the Oystrich Algorithm. I have no problem with that, but one guy from Spain (Manuel Villalta Villalta) has one - we will see... what are your plans for fixing this issue? > afterwards... working on the code in parallel looks too much > like calling for trouble....? What do you think? yup, if Frank really wants to reimplement what I've done already, he will go through the same as I did - and I don't want anyone to suffer like this. No, seriously, I think that Frank could concentrate on developing a good theoretical & semi-practical (relating to kXML) solution - and we then both discuss about splitting up the job (if the job seems doable) for actually implementing it. And in the meantime, maybe I could get developer access to the kXML cvs repository (my nickname on SF is 'nikee' (id 378142))... :) > Thanks for your support! I think that I profit so much (privately and at work) from open source software that this is a really small & unimportant return... regards nicola
