I am sorry for this late reply...
As far as I remember, for kXML 2-WBXML, the problem is that
namespace handling is still not fully implemented.

I would tend to suggest to just add multiple codepage handling
to the version in CVS (coordinated with Frank), ignoring the
namespace problem, and I will try to fix the namespace issue 
afterwards... working on the code in parallel looks too much
like calling for trouble....? What do you think?
