client authentication

I have enhydra running with ssl from the 'using ssl with Enhydra'
instructions, but when I set clientAuthentication to true I do not get a
client certificate presented. I have created certificates with keytool and
openssl, but the client certificate does not exchange correctly.  Has anyone
gotten client Authentication working? I am using internet explorer, java
1.4.0_01.
