This might be caused by a bug in the glibc. Try setting native stack size to 2
Mb before running ./configure (i.e. do ulimit -s 2048).

Subject: Enhydra: enhydra 5.0 configure crashes with segmentation fault

Hi,

trying to configure enhydra 5.0 on another server (dual P3@1g4, 2GB RAM)
with any JDK - 1.3.1_02, 1.4.0_01, 1.4.0_02 and also 1.4.1 - it always
crashes as follows:

www:/usr/local/enhydra5.0# ./configure
Buildfile: build.xml
./configure: line 6: 891 Segmentation fault java
org.apache.tools.ant.Main $*

strace:
[cut]
stat("/usr/local/enhydra5.0/org/apache/xerces/utils/XMLCharacterProperties.class",
0x7fffc994) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
old_mmap(NULL, 360448, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS,
-1, 0) = 0x373f8000
munmap(0x373f8000, 360448) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_UNBLOCK, [USR2], NULL, 8) = 0
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) ---

Any idea?

I installed Enhydra 5.0 on several AMD boxes without any problem. And on
this machine Enhydra 3.1.1b1 runs for years OK.

Petr
