[drools-user] Drools 3 schema

Hey Guys,

Has the drools3 schema been designed so that it cannot be extended? If so why?

I would like to extend some of the complex types from my schema. This is part of a dynamic test harness that I am writing for drools. I've logged it in Jira.

Anyhow the xsd has definitions like:

<xs:element name="package">
    <xs:complexType>
      <xs:choice maxOccurs="unbounded" minOccurs="0">
        <xs:element ref="drools:import"/>
       
        <xs:element ref="drools:global"/>

        <xs:element ref="drools:function"/>       

        <xs:element ref="drools:rule"/>
       
        <xs:element ref="drools:query"/>       
      </xs:choice>

      <xs:attribute name="name" type="xs:string" use="required"/>
     
    </xs:complexType>
  </xs:element>

This is preventing me from extending the package.
