Plans to update the ChangeLog.usermap: msg#00143

java.classpath.patches

Subject: Plans to update the ChangeLog.usermap

That user map is missing a good half of the developers. This is
already remembering a complete chaos.

Of course, the ChangeLog contains the developers name rather than the
username, but I am not sure if the CVS contains this information. It was
a work to find all data when I was putting the @author tag about
Ronald Veldema in javax.swing.timer.
If we do not care about this, for the long run, we risk to loose the
authorship information from the older developers. Stealing the authorship means that we, all remaining developers, myself including,
are stealing the code from these older contributors. Not a honest thing.

Instead of deleting, I plan to bring that map in the proper order, using
information from the project page. The web robot generators I have
would extract E-mails as well, despite they are primitively masked.

Just FYI, I don't think this file is used any more.
I think it was used back when the ChangeLog was generated from cvs logs.
Perhaps we should delete it.

Tom
