I completely agree. Mike and the Apple Java team deserve a lot of credit 
for their work.
However, if you just continue to deny that there is a problem, there's 
not going to be any improvement. :)

We don't all have access to unlimited resources. Being able to roll back 
a developer preview in order to get back a working configuration would 
be so much easier for most of us.
It would save time and effort, and that would mean that more people 
would be willing to try them out.

Getting all this negative response on a competely reasonable request for 
enhancement is not exactly what I had expected.
