Hello.

You can install another copy of Mac OS X to external (preferable FireWire) disk. Or if you need, you can virtualize Mac OS X Server in some virtualization app. I can afford install dev Java on my computer, becuase it is only my private machine. I think Apple would agree with virtualization of common Mac OS X (not only Server). Many developers will be happy (not even Java folks).

Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5 updates Java SE 6, Java SE 5.0 and J2SE 1.4 to deliver improved compatibility, security, and address a number of regressions. This preview requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or later. Please read the Release Notes for more details, even if you can't install the build.

I think a lot more people would be willing to "take the leap" to a preview release if there was some kind of rollback/uninstall mechanism that could restore the previous version of Java.

I second that.
Too often I read on this list about some extra special steps that need to be taken to get to a normal state again after having installed a dev preview. I simply can't afford to mess up my main dev system.
