timestamp to date

Hello

I have following question/Issue with timestamp and date in velocity.
i have an object (LogEntry) where i have timestamp attribute.
i put array of those objects to velocity complex, and the questio is how easly 
convert timestamps to dates in velocity template. 
I hove no idea. maybe someone done it somehow?
