sounds great, i can provide most of the patch.
but i am not sure if such a system is overkill. :P at least build such a
system now is harder than adding a feature to IET. :P i can do some web
development 4 years ago. now? sigh. ;)
a simpler way is to provide patched iet code on wiki, consider iet core
code change slowly right now, this should be possible.

because commercial vendor have a few levels of support before developer.
so they move slower.
but that is a kind of protection on developers since they can not be
stuck in maintenance work.
both have up and down side. :P
