Hi all,
since I can not help much in IET development (My knowledge of the kernel
and of C forbids me touching this ;-) I still found a place where I
could be usefull:
What about a "Patched source download machine":
- Chose your IET version
- Chose your kernel version
- Click "Download":
- Source is patched to match kernel
- create .tgz
- Download
- Click "Info"
- Get feedback if people have been (un)able to compile and/or run
selected source on selected kernel
- Click "Feedback"
- Feed the DB behind "Info"
I guess this could attract a lot of people who run stock distributions
and would like to use IET but are scared by the patching process (At
least this would have been true for me 2 years ago or so ...)
Any ideas?
Reagrds, Eugen
BTW:
While I am not an AIX user, I am deeply impressed by the way the
AIX-Problem was handled. This is MUCH more than any commercial vendor
would deliver even for big bucks. Cudos, everyone!
