Re: IEEE 1394 on Dell Laptop: msg#00073ipod.ephpod
Yeah same here with my dell. Just use the 6 to 4 pin adapter that came with your iPod. Keep in mind that a 4 pin firewire port lacks a "power" line, so when connected you will be running off your iPod batteries. I think a few laptop manufacts have full 6 pin firewire plugs though. Forgot which ones exactly. -----Original Message----- From: ephpod-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ephpod-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2003 2:07 AM To: ephpod@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ephpod] Re: IEEE 1394 on Dell Laptop I have an Inspiron 8000 and my iPod works fine with that. dave - wrote: > Has anyone tested the iPod with the built-in firewire on Dell laptops? > I'm > not sure about all the laptops, but I know some new models come with a IEEE > 1394 4-pin connector.
