Re: Anyone else notice this about the 1.3 update for the older iPods?: msg#00044ipod.ephpod
Nope, I don't think it's that at all. If Apple had wanted to really enforce the "switch" policy, they would have never offered USB2 support for the newer gen iPods - USB2 is a strictly-PC thing, as Mac computers (save possibly the new G5) don't have a USB2 chipset. I believe either: - the 1.3 Win update is coming very soon - they're developing a 1.3x or 1.4 firmware which will be released for Windows There's no tangible reason to delay releasing 1.3 for Windows at the moment - as we know, installing the Mac version of 1.3 on Windows iPods is a piece of piss - but I'm possibly wondering whether they've given some serious thought to offering some of the 2.x features on the older firmware now, and have delayed the release of the Windows firmware as a result... Then again, you might be completely correct. My brain has shifted into low-gear thanks to it being Friday afternoon ;-) [ Brendan ] | [e] brendan@xxxxxxxxxx [p] 0402 993 798 [w] www.sektah.com > -----Original Message----- > From: ephpod-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:ephpod-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of barks_order > Sent: Friday, 18 July 2003 3:44 PM > To: ephpod@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [ephpod] Anyone else notice this about the 1.3 > update for the older iPods? > > > > Seems that Apple has removed any mention of a Windows update. > I have two > theories. > > 1.
