Make sure you're tagging properly. I mean, if you told EphPod to use 
ID3v2 tags, it could be that your tagging software is writing ID3v1 tags 
and *empty* ID3v2 tags. EphPod falls back to v1 if *no* v2 are available, 
but not if there are *empty* v2 tags. Other software may revert to v1 when 
it detects *empty* v2, but not EphPod. Check also the opposite: EphPod 
could be using ID3v1 tags and you're tagging in v2 and putting *empty* v1 
tags in.

You should try another firewire card, or if you have a 3rd gen iPod 
(docking connector) and USB2, you could purchare a firewire+usb cable 
and give it a try.
