Shaun, >i recently updated my ipod to 1.2.6 software, expecting the battery miracle >this weekend i took a trip ipod fully charged before i left, listening to my >ipod for about 3 hours, and i think 3 or 4 playlists >i went to come home sunday, and the ipod that was still on 4 bars when i locked it friday evening was showing the dead batterty icon now :-( >does anyone know whats going on, is my battery just worn out? Do you need the clock or the alarms? If not, then don't bother setting the clock and check that the alarms are _off_ (I think they default to _on_ after a restore). That's the way I use it, and indeed 1.2.6 did the miracle for me. If you're already doing this, then your battery could be dead. But it looks like an alarms issue, since it didn't drop a single bar after playing for 3 hours. All the power was eaten during stand by.
