Archivist Job Opportunity

Our client, a major healthcare company, is seeking a detail-oriented
person to archive a variety files as part of a digital asset
management project.  The major job duties are listed below:

INPUT METADATA FOR NEW ASSETS 
- Loading of new media assets onto the Image Gallery
- Convert files to appropriate file types
- Gather metadata information 
- Check metadata for completeness and accuracy
- Resolve any metadata issues
- Catalog new assets in database with metadata 
- Move content from web server to data base server
- Verify metadata, thumbnails, and extended views 
- Store original media on-site
        
UPDATE OF EXISTING MEDIA ASSETS
- Receive updated asset or metadata information from client
- Update asset or metadata
- Verify and validate updated information
        
TROUBLESHOOT & RESOLVE ISSUES
- Upload issues
- Download issues
- Asset search issues
- Asset view issues
- General issues for asset types, size, etc. (application use)
- General issues pertaining to the database

The ideal candidate is technically savvy, logical, detail-oriented, a
master of the World Wide Web, and a Boolean search guru.  This person
must also have a strong knowledge of digital terminology, media asset
file types ? such as PDF, BMP, JPEG ? and their associated application
usage (ex: which graphic file would work best in an online PowerPoint
presentation?).  Excellent communication skills, the ability to work
independently, take initiative, and provide recommendations are
essential.
