CDI IT Solutions has a great opportunity for a Technical Writer at our
client in Scottsdale, AZ. This is a 6 month contract position.



JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position is responsible for delivering the technical documentation
necessary to support the IT applications utilized within our client's
organization. The types of documents that will be worked on include Use
Case documents, System Requirements Documents, System Design Documents,
Test Case Documentation and Interface documentation. The initial tasks
of this position would be to update some of the existing documentation
to a state that matches the current versions of the applications. As
change requests exist or new implementations are put in place the
documentation tasks would be the responsibility of the technical writer.

EXAMPLES OF TASKS:

* Writes or drafts technical IT documents, use cases or related
material based on design, development or analysis.
* Reviews and/or evaluates existing documents and updates documents
based on existing application functionality
* Reviews and edits all IT documentation.
* Draws/creates and/or selects graphic charts, working drawings,
illustrations, maps, etc., for better understanding of the application
functionality.
* Performs research activities by utilizing application to obtain and
manipulate data that exists within the documents.
* Coordinates with the developers, analysts and the operations teams
in order to obtain the proper information for the application
documentation
* Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate
advice, and/or facilitates decisions in regards to IT documentation.
* Other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

* Research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information
* Good understanding of Software Development process and
documentation utilized within this process
* Basic IT knowledge of application development, database structures
and web architecture
* Knowledge of the healthcare industry a plus
* Review and/or edit documents for accuracy and completeness
* Use computer spreadsheet software
* Use graphic and/or desktop publishing software
* Expert use of MS Word, Visio and Adobe in order properly document
technical requirements, designs and flow. (former use or understanding
of UML a plus)
* Provide documentation assistance to developers and analysts
* Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in
writing; read and understand information presented in writing
* Develop and/or implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or
rules/regulations
* Read, interpret and apply regulations, policies and/or procedures
* Evaluate information against a set of standards
* Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and
understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
