Compensation: Annual compensation for this position is negotiable
and is dependent on previous applicable work experience (range is $40,000 -
$60,000 per year DOE). Retirement plan and reimbursement for health
insurance, mobile phone, and mileage are available. Quarterly profit
sharing is also available and is based on individual and branch performance
- especially in the areas of utilization and customer care.



Travel Area: A majority of the travel for our company will be
throughout the Phoenix Metro area.






VSI is searching for a Senior Technology Support / Field Technician for our
AZ branch office.



Our company specializes in providing technology and human resource support
in the areas of troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining computer and
infrastructure hardware and software for small and medium sized businesses

The candidate for this position needs to be VERY experienced in the areas of
network and system administration of workstations, servers, network
appliances, application and operating system software, and premise cabling.



Major responsibilities include the following:



1. onsite repair (break-fix) and remote assistance for our customers



2. effectively communicating with customers - which includes
predictable and repeatable follow-up with customers (mostly small and medium
sized businesses and a few residential customers)



3. regular (hourly in most cases) documentation of work completed -
specifically updating help desk trouble tickets and customer documentation



4. Since this is a senior position, solid leadership, communication,
and follow-up skills are VERY important.



This person will be utilizing the following technologies:



. SOFTWARE: MS Win 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Small Business
Server (SBS), MS SharePoint, MS Office, QuickBooks, and several other
specialty applications. Macintosh experience is a plus.



. NETWORKING: Hubs/switches (managed & unmanaged), broadband
routers and firewalls, VPN, basic Cisco routers and firewalls experience,
and various wireless technologies and security



. CABLING: phone and computer cabling, termination, testing,
making custom cables, phone programming and setup. This is not mandatory,
but nice to have.



Candidates must have VERY strong customer service skills, ability to travel
extensively around the respective metro areas, be VERY good at follow-up
(ownership spirit), VERY attentive to detail, professional appearance and
attitude, and be reasonably physically fit as some of the work requires
moderate lifting and working in tight places. These skills are VERY
important!
