System Admin Manager

manage and ensure our operating platforms are secure, scalable, 
highly-available, and are tuned for top-notch performance. You will 
play a critical role in all aspects of managing and growing our 
infrastructure and will work closely with application developers to 
develop new and innovative products.

Responsibilities:
?Monitor and manage development and production environments, 
including servers, storage, firewalls, routers, and related 
equipment.  Analyze system performance, troubleshoot, and upgrade 
when necessary. 
?Collaborate with application developers in the design, testing and 
implementation of Pivotal Veracity's infrastructure to support new 
products and features
?Monitor databases, identify hardware & software bottlenecks and 
carry out performance tuning of production databases for optimal 
reliability and performance
?Manage and, where applicable, coordinate with application developers 
to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of existing 
features and services
?Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems
?Define and manage enterprise-wide security policies
?Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure 
full data retrieval
?Monitor and test system performance; provide statistics and reports
?Review and analyze new and existing software, hardware, and 
technologies and recommend more effective utilization and 
integration. 

Experience:
?5-10 years experience managing secure, high-availability enterprise 
level infrastructure systems from a hardware, systems and operations 
perspective. 
?Expert level networking troubleshooting experience in large scale IP 
environments.
?Knowledge and experience working with web application servers, and 
MTAs
?Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Linux, including installation and 
configuration of OS and related packages
?Experience working with firewalls, routers, switches and load-
balancers
?Extensive knowledge of x86 hardware - RAID controllers, RAM, CPUs, 
SCSI, and IDE 
?Hands-on experience upgrading, troubleshooting and working with 
vendor/support resources
?Knowledge of computer and network security practices and tools, 
authentication and encryption
?Must work well under pressure, be sensitive to deadlines, be able to 
interact in a team environment, and be able to adapt quickly to 
change 
?Strong analytical and problem solving skills centered on compiling 
technical and business related information that can be utilized to 
provide insight, analysis and resolutions for resolving technical 
challenges
