Java Architect

Our client in Scottsdale is looking for a Java Architect to join 
their team. Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in IT. 
3 to 5 years experience with J2EE and related technologies in an 
infrastructure and/or application development capacity. Experience 
as a program level architect on large scale enterprise technology 
initiatives. Breadth across infrastructure and application 
development is preferred. Hands-on experience with J2EE development 
tools is required. .

Technical Skills Needed: 
Technical Leadership and Architecture experience involving 
enterprise level web development. Experience with Java, J2EE, 
Websphere, HTML, XML, Struts, Javascript, Junit, and working 
knowledge of Oracle or another RDBMS. 

Day to Day responsibilities of the position: 
- Serve as the subject matter expert and the overall architect for 
major Scottsdale Insurance initiatives
- Undertake complex projects requiring additional specialized 
technical knowledge and knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and 
Design. 
- Make well thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous IT 
architecture issues. 
* Create artifacts regarding decisions and designs
- Coordinate with users and internal It business analysts to 
determine requirements. 
- Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and 
monitored to increase efficiency. 
- Establish and communicate common goal and direction for the team. 
- Project management methodologies 
- Act as a resource for setting direction, training, and guidance 
for less experienced staff.

- Must have excellent communication skills and a willingness to 
think strategically. 
- Must have excellent documentation skills
