Job description:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated person who has proven hands-on
experience in a Production environment. Candidates must have a solid technical
background, proficient in web-based technologies, detailed oriented and have
outstanding communication skills. The primary role of this position will be to
provide help desk and level 2 technical support. In addition, the candidate
will be part of a team responsible for configuring, supporting, troubleshooting
and administering a variety of Windows and CentOS Linux servers including IIS
Web Servers, MS SQL servers, and utility windows servers spanning multiple
locations. The extent of that role will be determined on experience level. This
individual will also be involved in various IT projects, deploying new
solutions and making recommendations on future IT initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
* Assist end-users
* Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in order to ensure maximum
up-time of windows servers and windows desktops.
* Install, configure, and maintain organization's desktops, laptops, and
printers
* Assists with controlling hardware, PC related inventory, and software
* Following best practices for the Production Support function
* Assist in planning and implementing systems upgrades, both from a hardware
and software and application perspective.
* Assist in Windows AD and user administration duties corporate wide, including
creating users and groups; assigning user and group rights; setting up shares,
volumes and directories; and monitoring servers, storage and events corporate
wide.
* Implement utilities that help to increase security, sustain high degrees of
availability and allow for proactive support of the infrastructure servers.
* Ability to communicate and work across organizational teams.

Required Skills & Experience:
* Network systems knowledge and experience: Thorough knowledge of networking
administration and network problem analysis procedures
* Excellent communications, writing, and editing skills needed to answer
customer calls and communicate technical information with customers
* Strong technical diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Have excellent troubleshooting skills in a production environment
* Have a strong understanding of IIS, MSSQL, & Active Directory
* Working experience with change management processes, issue / problem tracking

Education and certification:
* 3 to 5 year of system administration and user support on Windows 2000+ and XP
* Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems, or Information Technology and 2 years related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
* MCSE or MCSA Preferred
* Experience in administering Windows 2000 and 2003 servers

Desired Skills:
* Linux knowledge is a plus
* Cisco knowledge is a plus
* Experience in a technical customer service environment is preferred
