We are currently seeking an experienced Database Developer. The perfect candidate should be highly organized and flexible, with highly developed communication skills. The person filling this position is expected, under general supervision, to: - Design data models and databases (including the front-ends/UI's) from scratch based on understanding end user requirements - Conduct reviews of the design across functional team (development, test & deployment), identify business rules from logical design, and assess risk and design limitations - Code (using both programming language ASP.Net/C#(front-end) and SQL(back-end), test and implement the database designs and data models into successful production systems and manage the maintenance of such systems - Document all work designs and document all code modules and data models - Configure and generate reports (both scheduled and ad-hoc reports) for the database systems - Perform SQL server administration and data manipulation, including but not limited to user-defined functions, triggers, stored procedures, Transact-SQL (T-SQL) - Understand the processes involved in scrubbing and prepping data for migration to another system and using sampling and testing techniques to validate the success of the post-migration. - Monitor SQL server regularly in order to maintain systems good health and ensure continuous operations. - Maintain MS Access databases, forms, and reports, as well as design and document migration plans from Access 97 to Access 2000+ and/or SQL Server Requirements - BS or Associates degree in MIS, Computer Science or 2+ years exp. in related field - Expertise with MSSQL server 2000+ and MS Access 97+ - Database and Query performance tuning experience - Experience working in a distributed client-server environment doing database development, implementation, support, and database design - Good knowledge of .Net (C#/VB), VBA, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, HTML - Candidate should have good communication skills, both written and oral. He/she will interact with business analysts and users to gather and document requirements during the analysis phase, and with other technical staff and management through the complete development life-cycle - The candidate should be self-motivated and have a proven record of managing their own time and work.
