Title: Experienced VB 6 / MS SQL 2000 developer

We are looking for an experienced VB 6 / MS SQL 2000 developer with 
demonstrated skills for supporting changes to existing applications 
and data in client's information systems

Rate: Competitive

Location: CHQ

Start Date: Immediately

Duration: 3 months possible contract-to-hire

The developer will be responsible for working with a small but 
experienced support team of business analysts, testers and developers 
to rapidly gain the understanding necessary to make changes to the 
software. This is a small team environment that values process to 
produce quality software and documentation in a timely fashion.  
There is a subset of the application software that is used 24 x 7, so 
callout support is shared by the team.  For any given change, the 
developer will analyze the requirement document written by a business 
analyst, then estimate the development effort, compose design 
documentation, develop software (VB6 and SQL) and unit test the 
change. The application software and data are custom for the client's 
business process, operate as Windows client server architecture (2 
tiers) and are written in VB6 and MS SQL 2000.  

Required Skills:

·       3-5 years VB6, MS SQL 2000

·       Team Player- someone who is willing to play team, share the 
success and challenges in our drive. 

·       Experience with trading, financial, natural gas, or power 
business areas are favorable considerations but not required.   

There is a future plan to re-architect the VB6 applications in .Net, 
so experience with .Net is also a favorable consideration.  
Although .Net experience is not a requirement, it should be a future 
skill target for the candidate.
