DATA CENTER DIRECTOR      

Reports To:  Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

DataPreserve, Inc is currently seeking a qualified Data Center 
Director to provide overall management for the strategic direction 
of information processing, communications systems and computer 
operations. The position functions as the key leader in directing 
the day-to-day operations of DataPreserve's information and storage 
systems. 

Essential Accountabilities 
The Data Center Director develops, manages and achieves service 
levels for the corporate information systems - including data center 
services, technical service centers, help desk, voice and data 
communication networks, internet and intranet sites, computer 
program development and computer systems operations.  The position 
develops and provides operating procedures and documentation for the 
data center and related operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Directs the tactical planning, budgeting and deployment of 
information systems, communications networks, computer program 
development and computer systems operations in an organized pro-
active manner that supports company objectives. 

Interacts with suppliers, service providers and management on 
internal and external operations that are impacted by the capture, 
storage, processing, and dissemination of information including 
review and approval of all major contracts for services and 
equipment for DataPreserve operating groups. 

Prepares policies and procedures that achieve departmental 
information processing and reporting goals, assures proper 
documentation and controls and maintains effective working 
environments and relationships for end users. 

Identifies emerging technologies, assesses the potential value for 
end users and maintains currency, interfaces with industry experts 
to gain competitive assessments and share information.

Hires, directs and evaluates information systems staff, develops and 
achieves the department's objectives, interfaces internally and 
externally to gain the best return on investment through innovative 
technology and provides direction on the use of new technology. 

Develops technology plans, projects, installations, hardware and 
information software and maintains the appropriate standards for 
technology executions and activities within the DataPreserve 
operating business groups.

Prepares associated reports related to information systems and 
technologies and participates as a key member of DataPreserve's 
Technology Committee.  Performs related research, recommendations 
and work as required.

Experience/Requirements 

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college, Computer 
Information Systems background, Management Information, Business or 
a related field. The ideal candidate will have several years of 
significant Information Technology (IT) operations, IT consulting or 
IT project management experience. 

Must have experience at the executive level demonstrating 
significant knowledge of information systems technology. 

Position requires knowledge of contracting, negotiating and 
directing organizational change. 

Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a budget, interact with 
company leaders, conduct strategic planning processes and manage 
technologies in a data center environment.

Strong conceptual skills and the ability to communicate orally and 
in writing.   Must be experienced in developing and delivering 
presentations and training.  

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, achieves results 
through others, and analyzes complex process issues. 

Experience in a fast-growing company environment a plus.
