Sr. Data Architect/Designer position open in Phoenix, AZ

TIBCO (or similar tool set); Web Services, XML, JMS, relational data 
modeling 

This position is responsible for enterprise-wide data design and 
responsible for implementing to and shaping the Enterprise Data 
Strategy. The position will partner with the Director, Enterprise 
Data Architecture and the VP, Enterprise Technology as well as the 
infrastructure and application teams to facilitate the data 
architecture direction. The key to the incumbent's success will be 
the ability to influence key constituents to move the organization 
in the direction that supports the strategic priorities. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that data architecture meets the needs of the business and 
cross-functionally work in concert with other teams by researching, 
recommending, and delivering best-in-class integration and data 
architecture solutions to the company.

Assess impacts of legacy system replacements and application 
implementation into the business areas and processes by mapping the 
high level business functions and addressing data related problems 
of system integration and compatibility.

Assist in defining and governing the standards and methodology for 
implementing the Enterprise Data Architecture vision to including 
Common Data Models, data exchange/integration standards, development 
and testing methodologies.

Anticipate enterprise level data issues and develop proactive 
procedures and processes to counter.

Analyze business drivers, overlay applications functionality 
drivers, and define I.S. solutions for enterprise wide issues. 

Document and assess current data applications environment ? 
identifying strengths, risks, and opportunities ? providing 
recommendations for continuous improvements and/or leveraging 
strengths. Analyze the current state of Data Architecture. Develop 
plans and lead activities for addressing gaps.

Provide expertise and guidance to project and applications teams on 
the overall business data architecture as it relates to I.S. and 
business strategies during the analysis, design, planning phases and 
implementation of each project.

Provide expertise and guidance to ensure our production environments 
meet our customer service levels.

Ensure data architecture components are designed and implemented 
such that they pass audit and protect the company brand.


BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field required. 

7+ years of I.S. experience in business and industry and 4+ years 
working as Data Architect/Designer with demonstrated expertise in 
architecture design and common integration methodologies. 

Extensive experience in with the following tools/concepts: TIBCO (or 
similar tool set); Web Services, XML, JMS, as well as relational 
data modeling experience.

Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to impart 
technical concepts to all levels.
