GillTek is recruiting for a Senior Programmer analyst in our client's
EMS/Power Operations group.

This is a contract position to start immediately and go through 12/31/06


Summary: Primary systems are in support of Transmission Operations and Planning
department and Customer Service departments that focus on electric system
operations. Applications supported are real-time control systems centered in
the Energy Management System located in the 502 facility and include
supervisory control and data acquisition, alarm management, maintenance of a
proprietary database and display system, communications with external
utilities, automatic generation control, and others.

Breadth of business applications spans accounting/financial systems,
geographical information systems, customer information systems, work management
systems, marketing systems, engineering systems, et.al. Technical skills focus
on demonstrated experience with C/C++ language programming in a traditional
Unix user shell command environment, vi editor, x-windows, client server
architectures, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

* BS/BA equivalency or any combination of four years relevant work experience
and completed years of relevant college coursework.

* An additional 4-6 years progressively responsible experience demonstrating
advanced knowledge of application systems, development and integration
services, ability to apply problem analysis/resolution techniques and knowledge
of systems design.

* Demonstrated ability to apply information systems engineering development and
implementation methodologies, systems guidelines architectures and technologies
with respect to 24x7 real-time system control environments.

* Demonstrated oral communication and interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrated experience in the design and development of distributed
applications in a Unix user shell command environment using the following
systems/tools/methodologies:
--IBM AIX or other Unix based OSs and/or MS Windows
--C programming language
--vi text editor
--Mastery of MS Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel.

* Demonstrated work experience and/or skills in the following areas will be
favorably considered:
--X-Windows programming
--Source Control management/SCCS
--Shell Script programming/awk/sed
--Oracle DB/PLSQL
--Pascal, Fortran, PERL
--Knowledge and familiarity with principles of electric system operations.
--Knowledge and familiarity with electrical fundamentals and electric system
analysis.
--Knowledge and familiarity with process control principles, telecommunications
protocols.
--Knowledge of and familiarity with electrical system design and construction
