Re: A word of encouragement from an old-time n-backer
Hey guys!
First and foremost, I wanted to apologize for long delays in my
responding. I am really short on time these days.
I find 1-second intervals harder specifically because attention
switching and updating need be performed much faster. More time gives
you more space to breathe in this respect. Holding the information in
your mind doesn't seem to be troublesome in any particular way,
regardless of the setting. As I commented earlier, you have to pay a
lot for relaxing your focus for a split of a second when playing with
the shorter intervals.
I'm hoping for some future pay-offs exactly for the reason of that
necessity to perform the same set of operations really fast.
A separate issue: In the past I noted a significant overlap between
the 3 and 1 second int. n-back; to the point of it not making any
difference other than the general (dis)comfort of playing the faster
setting.
Some of the points I made in the past seem somewhat naive from my
today's perspective. However, I'd like only to add that playing the
Jaeggi mode in fact only promotes a substitute of manually switching
between levels... by which I mean that with this setting it's quite
easy to advance to another level (in comparison with the standard
mode!)... and it shows you the arbitrariness of the "perfect score
ideal".

Ashirgo,
thank you for sharing your experience.
perhaps then when you go from 3seconds to 1second it is more
advantageous in your case since the former is easier than the latter.

[Everything doTERRA] Slim and Sassy spiked BP
I have a friend who tried the Slim and Sassy and it spiked her BP. She's on a beta channel blocker for her high BP, and it messed that up somehow. Does anyone know why so that we can identify other things she might need to avoid?
Thank you,~Diane Jarecki
