Re: Could long term N-backing change personality?

-  Well, yeah.  I studied piano (classical) as a kid and in college, and have studied guitar, bass and other stuff (various styles) my entire life, had martial training (I'm no blackbelt), have juggled, can ride a bike, &etc, and I could supply any number of references willing to attest to my still having at least a general aura of genatalia.  Or something.  Of course I'm cautious of offering any of my subjective and anectdotal experience as indicative of anything meaningful due to the fact that I have ADHD and apparently some slippery comorbidity as well - as I must repeatedly and tiringly admit. -  But there does seem to be a lot of data HINTING at a correlation between physical learning/practice and some increase in functional mental process.  People who have made huge gains on ADHD and others who report increased intellectual acuity (or something) via physical training, improvements in acadic performance for kids who swim regularly (seems to me if anything were to have an effect this would, given the complexity of the activity and the sensory input / response / control required), the physical and apparently lasting effccts in the brain resulting from learning juggling, and on to wierd stuff like the anectdotally reported higher than average intelligence of people with highly trained senses of smell (can't find references now, but remember reading about commone traits of "flavorists," one being apparently high intelligence... may be selected due to breadth of the components of the profession - chemistry, biology, psychology - but SEEMS to me that the sense of smell is so associative, emotional and sensual that it makes sense somehow, and I believe I've seen the same in folks I've known with exceptional senses of smell).  &Etc again. -  I've learned better than to run with the "it seems obvious" approach to ANYTHING, and "selection" may account for a lot of this (i.e., kids from more affluent families have more opportunities to swim, people who read studies and have resources / spare time they've used for personal development attempt juggling...) but I have to say that if I had millions to invest in research, I'd have to put a chunk in this sort of stuff. -  Because I believe I've experienced it, and I believe I've seen it in my kids (though maybe that's because I want to).  I know that there's a difference, noticable both to me and others between when I'm playing heavily and when I'm not (though that may be because I started early enough that it's a psychological need - though I tend to doubt that alone is it, the efeect is too pronounced). -  And I will say that to whatever degree effects on an ADHD / comorbid brain are representative of any effect on normal people, changes in chemistry via nutrition come close to making me a different person, to the extent that I don't recognize "who that person was" in a previous state when a change is in effect.  Under circumstances I am extremely open, calm, clear, &etc (though working memory remains an issue throughout) while at other times I'm surprised that either I o some outside agent hasn't slit my throat on principle. -  I will also add that I have seen this positive effect when doing heavy DNB, and - oddly and with little or no indication in outside data - work with reverse digit span, especially while using temporal DC current stimulation.  Hmm. -  In closing, let me say I hope there is some point in my long- windedness, and here, as an added bonus, are the parentheses and assorted punctuation I have left over per my quota ;;/ " " '!? , ..... (((((())))))))(((( - ; : ?!? }{{ ¥£€ ^ * and at the end a final and closing PREPOSITI(ON). Sorry. - KD On Feb 27, 3:59 am, likeprestige <plastic...@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Yeah, I completely agree. [Everything doTERRA] PMDD

Hello, I am still fairly new to doTERRA. I have been using the oils for 4 months now. I started using them to get me off my meds for PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). I was diagnosed with that almost 2 years ago. The oils have been working for the depression that is associated with this and most of the mood swings. The only thing that it isn't working for is the acne. I look like a teenager going through puberty. I didn't even break out this bad when I was a teenager. I know that it is a hormonal issue. I am wondering if the oils that I am currently using are not the correct ones? I use Whisper and Elevation in the morning for the PMDD. I have used Meleluca, Peppermint and now currently using Eucalyptus. None of those seem to be working for me. If there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction, I would be so grateful. I would really like not to look like a teenager anymore. :) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Everything doTERRA" group.
