Re: AUDIOTRON Digest - 11 Mar 2004 to 12 Mar 2004 (#2004-73): msg#00132hardware.voyetra.audiotron
Greetings Konrad Tried your suggerstion but it makes no difference. The same thing happens with ATTray as well. It is as if the system receives a call to go to an IP address and cannot be bothered to check local addresses first before insisting on going on the internet. How can the computer know what are local IP addresses and what are remote IP addresses? The Hosts file is not the answer to this as no entries were present on any of my computers yet the XP Pro and one 98SE computer find the Audiotron without dialing up and the other doesn't. Anyone any ideas? I assume, that in your win98 systems the default windows folder is used: c:\windows You'll find in this folder a file called HOSTS In this file you'll find lines like: 127.0.0.1 loopback localhost 10.1.20.5 computername 10.1.20.237 otherscomputername 10.1.20.222 audiotronsname You need to find out your at's name in the webfrontend and also its IP address just enter this two parameters in the hostfile with a editor and try it again. Good luck Konrad On Thu, 11 Mar 2004 17:33:29 -0000, John Bunting wrote: >Multiple reply! > >------------------- > >Kenny > >Unfortunately it made no difference - worth a try tho'. > >JohnB > >------------------------ > >Konrad > >I have tried what I think you meant and both other computers are now >registered as hosts with the AT100.
