Lirc IR Blaster fails after computer has been idle: msg#00081hardware.lirc
Hello, I am using Lirc to control a serial ir blaster (irblaster.info) and change channels on a digital cable TV decoder (Motorola DVi 5000). I use this with MythTV on Fedora Core 4, Athlon XP 2400. During a typical evening I watch TV and channel changes work properly and reliably. However, if I leave the PC running for a few hours and then try to change channels, it appears that the lirc process has been paused or suspended. The first 5-10 attempts to change channel will not cause any output from the ir blaster and then it seems to come to life again and start working correctly. The result of this is that MythTV missing channel changes for scheduled recordings. I am not sure how to proceed in debugging this. Which logs should I check? How could I analyse this affect and try to resolve the problem? Many thanks, I'm new to the list so I apologise if I missed the answer to this when I checked the archives. Thanks, /michael ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
