LIRC with Pinnacle PCTV Pro - lircd dies

Hello!

I use Debian sarge with (Debian) Kernel 2.6.8 and lirc doesn't work with
the serial remote from the Pinnacle PCTV Pro TV card. The remote is
connected to the COM1 port.
I installed lirc, then selected the appropriate option from the debconf
menu. The hardware.conf looks like the following:

DRIVER="pinsys"
DEVICE="/dev/ttyS0"
MODULES=""
LIRCD_CONF="pinnacle_systems/lircd.conf.pctv"
LIRCMD_CONF=""

Ok, then I started lirc and the daemon is running.
If I execute irexec, lircd dies.
/var/log/syslog:
Feb  5 22:09:00 bali lircd 0.7.1pre2[3906]: accepted new client on
/dev/lircd
Feb  5 22:09:00 bali lircd 0.7.1pre2[3906]: could not reset tty
Feb  5 22:09:00 bali lircd 0.7.1pre2[3906]: caught signal

setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none didn't help, the "could not reset tty"
message appears over and over in the log although the
setserial /dev/ttyS0 seems to be alright:
/dev/ttyS0, UART: unknown, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4

Any ideas?
