You might have a look at Brick's Music Studio
http://www.aga.it/~guy/lego/bms.html
Also, a quick google for midi to RCX, wav to RCX and the like will turn
up other interesting pieces of software that people have done in the
past.

Before I try (and probably fail) to re-invent the wheel - has anyone

I'm looking to add some sound to a NQC-based robot, and I think it
would be
nice
to get away from my usual functional machine-like beeps, towards
something
happier and friendlier. Artoo's beeping seems like a good approach,
and before
I
spend a lot of time trying to mimick it, since I'm pretty weak at
sound, I was
wondering if it's been attempted already. Judging from a review of the
Mindstorms Droid Developer set, that's not the place to look for
artoo-inspired
beeps, and Google isn't turning up much :(
Any leads?
Thanks

You know - I have been thinking of stuff that could be useful to
someone wanting to get certain sounds out of the RCX - and some kind
of composer would be quite neat - which could save a song definition
file, and then export code to play the sound in various formats (NQC,
Robolab etc..). It would have to have at least a PC Playback option to
demo/test it during composition.
I personally dont have the time (for a couple of months) to develop
such a thing - but there are some people here who definately have the
skill for it.
