Thanks, it was fun to build.  Fortunately, *this* walker wasn't that tough.
It doesn't have balance or coordination issues.  The toughest part was
getting the feet to line up so they alternated.  There's no programming in
place, not even a bumper; it just moves in a straight line.  I hesitate to
call it a "robot" at all.

I am a programmer by trade, so the toughest part for me is not the
programming aspect (though I haven't done much in guidance or embedded
systems), but in getting the parts to work together properly.  To illustrate
how mechanically naive I am, I just this weekend learned how and why it is
that a differential does what it does.  Mostly thanks to the book "Building
Robots with Lego Mindstorms" by Mario Ferrari, Ralph Hempel and Giulio
Ferrari.  For any who are as mechanically challenged as I am, or just want
clear explanations of some of the macro parts one can construct from LEGO
parts, I highly recommend this book.  It concentrates on building techniques
and how to construct mechanics that work, not so much on programming.
