Thanks GPSBabel!

I just finished making a donation to the GPSBabel project and wanted to take a moment to thank all of the members and contributors of the project for all of your work.Early this morning (or late last night if you will)  I "turned on the lights" and opened up the public Beta of a new Web application I've been working on in my spare time called Spotstor  ( http://spotstor.com ), which uses GPSBabel for many of the format conversion tasks .I invite anyone who is interested to beta test and I would certainly value your feedback - especially as it relates to bugs or security holes.   The first phase of the test will cut off at 100 users and then I will incrementally open it to more as any gremlins get chased away. :-)The basic features of the application are, and always will be, free to the general public.  They include:1) The ability to upload, convert, and export waypoints (much of this functionality utilizes GPSBabel "under the hood").2) The ability to tag, organize, document, search, comment and create export groups for waypoints.3) The ability to create buddy lists and share individual waypoints with designated members or, better yet, make waypoints public for all users.4) Auto-tagging capabilities during upload which spatially references the coordinates of each-waypoint being uploaded against a master table of (currently over 21,000) geographic areas to allow for greater commonality in tag names.A full public API with documentation (which uses GPX as the XML delivery mechanism)  for use in external applications is forthcoming and is already in use  by some parts of the application. Thanks again for the many  hours of coding time and digging through GPS data schemas GPSBabel has saved me personally.Sincerely,Jon ClausenSpotstor.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Okay I sort of suspected this, but I guess the thing that through me was that, I was expecting a "TRD", "T" or "TRAD" for traditional. It never crossed my mine that no prefix would be used. Just they way my brain works I guess. -- bruce ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
