Need Help

Using GPSBabel v1.3.3, iMac G5 OS 10.4.6, and Magellan ExploristXL  
v9.2.10. Have been following Geocaching chimbisimo instructions, with  
no success.
This is what I am doing:
1. Download .loc files from Geocaching.com to my desktop and changed  
its name only, still .loc
2. Select GPSBabel Advanced
3. Select Modes Formats and Shortnames
4. Select Input File-Enter just the one .loc file
5. Select Output File and Select SAVE AS in Properties
    a, Select "untitled" icon. This is the only indication that my  
GPSr is connected
    b. Select My POI's
    c. Save As (name).upt
    d. Select "Process" and "Processed Fully" pops up  
instantaneously, but nothing is loaded in to the GPSr.
I'm not computer savvy, so probably not understanding something and  
need help.
