Great idea. I can imagine even Robert needed the 'idiots guide' once!
I know I did.

Suggested amendment.

<glossentry id="xml">
<glossterm>Geocaching</glossterm>
<glossdef>
<para>GPS based "paper chase", see
<ulink url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching"; /></para>
</glossdef>
</glossentry>

Change the id value to geocaching?
Then have some informal agreement that the id value will be the term in
lowercase, or camelCase if >1 word?
It makes it easy to refer to glossary entries.

Also

<glossentry id="itinerary">
<glossterm>Itinerary</glossterm>
<glossdef>
<para>same as a Route (e.g. used by TomTom)</para>
<glossseealso otherterm="route">route</glossseealso>
</glossdef>
</glossentry>
so that the terms are linked.

<glossdef>
<para>a collection of gas stations, post boxes, shops and
like.</para>
</glossdef>
Could I suggest 'locations' instead of gas stations, which is colloquial
I think.

Or it's own appendix?

<appendix>
<title>Glossary</title>
<para>Terms that are used in conjunction with GPSBabel.</para>
<glossary>
<glossdiv>
etc

I like the wikipedia link! I can't improve the current text.
