If you can take a shot with the docbook, we can help with the words.
So here we go, a docbook/XML snippet of a (small) Glossary is attached.

I've merged the responses from yesterday into a <glossary> and also added the terms: Geocaching, Itinerary and Points of Interest.

I've tested it by adding the snippet to a different docbook, it compiles and looks ok there. I didn't tried to build the GPSBabel docs, as the other build environment is already running :-)

The glossary might be placed in /gpsbabel/xmldoc/chapters/preface.xml right before the </preface> tag - or as a standalone "top level" item. However, it might better *not* be placed *after* "The Formats" section, where no one will find it ;-)

I'm unsure about the "Geocaching" text, in german you would say "Schnitzeljagd".

However, feel free to improve the glossary text(s) ;-)

P.S: I no longer have a running CVS client installation so no easy way to build a patch. I'm using Subversion for quite a while now and I can really recommend Subversion over CVS, as it has some serious advantages :-)
