I think I disagree, too. I've meant to add a glossary to our doc for
some time and these very terms are a recurring motivator. This is at
least twice this very week I've seen this asked and answered.

It's true that the GPS vendors are getting increasingly "creative" with
renaming common concepts. For example, I learned just this week that
"Icon" means something completely different in Lowrance-land than it
does in the rest of the industry.

This is a good point. That fresh perspective makes a difference.
