Google Maps to GPX Script Broken

I'm sad to report that due to a behind the scenes change at Google, the 
Google Maps to GPX Script for converting Google Directions to GPX format 
waypoint/route file from;

http://www.elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx

is no longer functional.

The author has posted this plus the information that he does not have 
the time to address it at the moment.

Here's hoping that this great tool survives.
