smart icons gone in 1.3.3?

When I upgraded to 1.3.3 on linux, I lost the smart icons. It worked  
in 1.3.2. I was just using -s with mapsource and gpx output to get  
them before. Did the command syntax change for smart icons in 1.3.3?
