GARMIN SAVING TRACKS HELP!

I have a Garmin IqueM4 and it works wonderfully as a PDA and has some good GPS features. However I am having a very frustrating time reading track information on my PC. I have the latest Drivers on both the PC and the PDA including the latest versions of Mapsource mapping software. The track information is recorded on the Garmin and I can see it superimposed on the maps. However when I try to upload the information from the PDA I regularly get a communication error.  It communicates fine for other functions such as calendar transfer of files and waypoints.

 

I have noticed that the track information is stored in a number of files SUCH AS GARMIN_STRK.NVM (for saved tracks) and GARMIN_ATRK.NVM (for active tracks) off the IQueM4.

 

I can see the track files on the Garmin unit I can copy them onto my PC and then I can see into them with a "Hex file reader" from where I can see all the separately recorded tracks BUT not in the form I can import into MAPSOURCE on my PC. Could anyone advise me of any software that will read these files and convert them into a suitable format such as "*.gdb".  

 

I look forward to hearing from you soon as this problem is causing me much grief!
