Magellan Route and Track Files

I've been trying to upload either route or track information to a Magellan 
Explorist 210. The source of the information is a GPX file created using 
QGIS. The Magellan will read waypoint files converted by GPSBabel Version 
1.3.2 into either "magellan" or "magellanx" formats, but it will not read 
either route or track files in either format. (It recognizes them as 
existing, but it will do that with any file named with the correct extension, 
regardless of the file contents.)

As an experiment, I created a route file on the Magellan, using three of the 
waypoints in an uploaded waypoint file. The format of the resulting file is 
slightly different from the route files created by gpsbabel:
- The GPSBabel file lacks the final "$PMGNCMD" line.
- The GPSBabel file has the last "$PMGNWPL" line below all but one of 
the "$PMGNRTE" lines.

Any suggestions?
