Re: How to add I2C device disable preamble?: msg#00016hardware.avr.avrdude.devel
I know it may be too late now, Not yet. This is a new device. I try to learn from my past mistakes. ;-) but what about adding a jumper to one or more of the SPI lines going to the accelerometer chip? Remove the jumper Two problems with that are: 1) Size. Where do I put one in a device that already has more component area than PCB area? I'm still telling the boss something has to go or the box gets bigger. 2) Labour on the production line. Time to move the jumper, and put it back. Also would have to add a step to the verification procedure to make sure the jumper was put back, taking additional time. Paperwork is the killer of all good ideas. Not a big deal in development, but as the number of devices go up it becomes a problem, at least till I hit the threshold where the chips come programmed from the vendor. |
