first attempt on transition to 2.6.15: msg#00037handhelds.linux.kernel
Since I put it out there that we need to upgrade the kernel, I might as well make a patch that attempts to do that. This patch: http://hovland.org/familiar/kernel-2.6.13-hh1-to-2.6.15-hh0.patch.bz2 does just that. It compiles for h5400. I do not yet know if it boots for that platform. I am keenly interested in feedback from h2200 and hx4700 porters as I have not tackled those platforms and they will definitely need fixing. Porting notes: The header include/linux/device.h no longer includes 'struct platform_device'. Drivers that require this struct will need to include include/linux/platform_device.h instead. The power management system changed. So the suspend() and resume() function signatures did too. Examples on how to deal with this change are in the patch, look for SAMCOP drivers. Thanks, look forward to feedback. Have a good New Year! E -- Erik Hovland mail: erik AT hovland DOT org web: http://hovland.org/ PGP/GPG public key available on request |
