OK... we've got to the bottom of this.

The problem is that jffs2 does not support shared writeable mmap, which is
exactly what apt-get uses. It's not a memory issue. This'll fail even if you
try to mmap 4097bytes. JFFS2 doesn't support shared-writeable.

I guess that this needs to be raised as a problem with apt-get, as this
functionality isn't going to be added to jffs2 (for good reasons).

Hello, i've put the sources, precompiled kernel modules (for 2.4.3), inputattach and a start/stop script for the PS/2 via serial keyboard for the iPAQ at http://www.iptel-now.de/HOWTO/PS2SER/ps2ser.html Just tested once more with intimate - when using familiar you'll probably use /dev/ttySA0 instead of /dev/tts/0 with inputattach. regards ralf
