Andy,
I have also been trying to get angstrom to boot from
sd or cf. Good luck with that. I know what you mean
about haveing so little space. My angstrom install
locked up and I had to reflash due to space
limitations
then I tried to install apps to CF like I used to with
my zaurus using ipkg and ipkg-link but ipkg was
forcibly removed by one of the distro maintainers and
they failed to mention it to anyone. Then I made the
biggest mistake, I asked a question. One guy helped me
out by giving me a link to an ipkg-link package which
he compiled and we discussed add the it to the wiki,
mistake #2. Apparently we were somehow supposed to
know that ipkg-link had been removed on purpose and
that we had committed a terrible transgression. There
was a vague post about root on sd something about
kernel exec and what not but as far as I know altboot
is not available for the hx4700 and is it doesn't have
lilo or grub I don't know how to pass boot time
arguments to it . I posted a question concerning LAB
for the hx4700 but it fell on deaf ears. Apparently I
have incurred the wrath of the developers. There
should be a standard disclaimer on the angstrom
website "If you are at all ignorant about the intimate
inner workings of the linux kernel then don't bother".
It seems to that the emphasis in the angstrom project
lies on the 'angst'.
