Sounds like you need to get it back in the cradle quickly and get to it
with the serial console.
I'm pretty sure the screen does not work yet with the bootloader and the
54xx machines..
Belt reset with the joypad held down, pop it back in the cradle and tap
the space bar a few times in minicom...
